After her granddaughter was shot, Angela moved from Savannah to Augusta to help her daughter with medical appointments. While in Augusta, she learned about The Salvation Army Job Skills program. Through this program, she gained career skills, certifications, and essential resources like food and clothing. She graduated from the program and eventually gained employment as a housing monitor at The Center of Hope shelter.
